Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Westbrook Baptist will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and "at home"! Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.
How are services conducted?
We love to worship the Lord in spirit and truth at Westbrook Baptist! Our services are designed to show the lost how to know they can have a home in Heaven as well as teach the saved people critical Bible truths that affect our daily life. Our services would be considered "traditional" in format, but we endeavor to keep them energetic and motivational while maintaining a Biblical balance. The music at Westbrook Baptist consists of singing as a congregation, specials, choir, & instrumental pieces. We enjoy singing choruses as well that go along with our theme for the day or year!
How should I dress?
There is not a dress code at Westbrook Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Westbrook Baptist!
Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?
No. We don't invite you to Westbrook Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
Where do I take my children?
Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for every age child. At every service there are safe, clean, and highly staffed nurseries for children three years old and under. For the infants and toddlers, mothers will receive a pager so that the nursery attendants can easily contact you if there is a need. At Westbrook Baptist, we love children and endeavor to maintain an environment where both parents and children can learn the Bible.
What is your nursery like?
Our nursery is always clean and safe. All of our nursery workers are well qualified and will love your children.
Are there programs for children during your services?
Yes. At Westbrook Baptist, we seek to serve your whole family including exciting Bible based programs for children of all ages and programs for teenagers.
Is your church wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Our auditorium has ground level access for individuals who have difficulty with stairs.
How long are the services?
At Westbrook Baptist Church your time is valued. Each service will generally last between one to one and half hours. Our people love fellowshipping before and after services and love to participate in our services!
What time do I show up?
Generally arriving 15 minutes before service will give you time to find seating. Be sure to add a few extra minutes to your arrival time if you need to place children in the nursery or Sunday School classes.
Will I be singled out as a guest?
As a first time visitor you will be given a visitor card when you first arrive. During the offering you will be given the opportunity to place the visitor card in the offering plate. This will give us an opportunity to get to know you better but is certainly not required.
Does the church provide counseling?
Yes. Our Pastor and staff will take the time to help you through whatever problems may arise in your life. All counseling is free and based upon the Bible.
What can I do if I have a family crisis? If a problem arises our Pastor will be glad to make himself available for you.
